We've agreed to try out a new resto for our DOS dinner celeb.
Been thrilled with the tag "exotic restaurant" so we decided to check out Assia in Wok in Dubai Mall.
For starters,we ordered shrimp lollipops with youngcorn sticks.
They have used rolls of lemon grass as sticks for the lollipops, very creative!
They also serve prawn crackers as starters. I think it's the same prawn crackers in chowking when you ordered for lauriat.
We ordered nasegoreng with grilled chicken and chilli garlic beef with udon noodles instead of rice for a lesser calorie intake. All these for our main course. Base on our orders, yes you're right we have spicy tongues...hehehe But I say the nasegoreng wasn't that spicy as we have expected it to be. The chilli beef didn't pass on our spicy meter either. And the udon noodles has this after taste which is something like a burned paper or burned plastic.
But I'm giving them an A for the food presentationa and their very polite servers. Food looks so yummy. But as they usually say, looks can be deceiving so beware.
Will I be coming back? Hmmmmmmm it was not that exotic afterall, so maybe but not that soon...
cheers!!

grendha ganda
Eversince last year, I'm in search for grendha jelly shoes here in the UAE. But upto this date, only Ipanema, Crocs, Havs, Billabong and the likes have landed here. I almost have had lost hope of having the comfort of this jelly shoes... until pj teamed-up with amazon.com... AND viola!
it blends well with my nail polish...hehehe
and oh my feet looks good with it.. LOL
Grendha Shoes originated in Brazil and entered US in the late 80's. These jellies are a cluster of avant-garde molded-plastic shoes which targets women and children's market.
And with its futuristic sleekness, it crosses age boundaries.
It is so comfy that I think my mom would also consider it to wear.

atlantis - leaped by faith...TWICE
I have always been afraid of heights...
I remember how anchor's away in enchanted kingdom had sucked all the air inside me that I couldn't even scream in fright because it felt as if my soul has been blown away from my earthly body by the rapid swings of that ride. wheeew!!
So, imagine how scared I am while climbing the stairs for leap of faith. Leap of faith is the main attraction of atlantis aquaventure park, the slide has an inclination of almost 90 degrees and a height of who knows... but from my opinion its too high..hehehe
My legs are literally shaking and my hands are cold and sweating like a pig while we were in the queue for the slide, I was really nervous and my phobia of heights attacked, different bad thoughts were running through my mind, thinking I will not come out of this alive...hehehe The little boys and girls who were before us has given me encouragemnet, seeing them excited to ride the slide has given me a thought that "hey if these little creatures can do... I know I can do it also..." (while saying it though, my heart's still pounding and beating so fast)
When it was my turn, I said a little prayer, sat at edge of the slide, crossed my legs as instructed and asked the life guard to push me as I can't push myself through the slide then I closed my eyes...hehe
And with less than 10 seconds... VIOLA! I DID IT!!!hehehe
It wasn't that scary afterall that I opted for another ride...=)
The feeling was really really great knowing that I've in a way conquered my fear of heights with that leap of faith...

Changes
change is inevitable...
it is the only constant thing in this world...
i hate changes...
it usually brings me chaos and desperation...
but quoting from grey's anatomy's valentine massacre episode we can surpass changes...
"we have to constantly come up with new ways to fix ourselves..
So WE CHANGE...
we adapt...
we create new versions of ourselves...
we just need to be sure that this ONE...
is an IMPROVEMENT over the last..."

help save the sharks
Last week we were craving for pritong galunggong(the one which you have to paksiw first before deep frying.. try it, guaranteed! it's very yummy!), so we went to fish market to buy the fresh ones and we came across this little sharks being sold for 45 dirhams per kilo. My heart sank seeing those endagered species for sale. Please let us not patronize this kind of business. Instead, let us help in saving and nurturing the riches we have in our ocean as well as in our lands.
